Dear Reader
"Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil" (He. 6:19).
Over the last few weeks one cannot help but to wonder how long the world system will continue as its political and financial institutions are falling apart and failing. Uncertainty and perplexity fill men's hearts with fear; man is looking around for answers and some stability, but is faced every day with more bad news and a grim looking future. Christians should not be surprised and distressed as the earth-dwellers, for our souls have an anchor.
The Bible, the Word of God, declares clearly to us where the world system is heading and that the answer to its problems is the coming of Christ. He and He alone will restore order and rule in righteousness. Let us not forget that we are citizens of heaven. We have great responsibility today to point man to Christ as the source of security and stability, and to heaven where our treasures should be laid up.
"Now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent the day is at hand, let us therefore, cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light" (Ro. 13:11-12).
May the Lord use this issue of Toward the Mark to strengthen, encourage, and help you to be established to the end that Christ may be displayed in your life.
