“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil” (Heb. 6:19).

Over the last few years, one cannot help but to wonder how long the world system will continue as its political institutions are falling apart and failing. Uncertainty and perplexity fill men’s hearts with fear; man is looking around for answers and some stability, world leaders gathered in many summit and United Nations gatherings and meetings to find solutions or agreements to stop war and suffering of many people in many nations. Many countries are trying to change government systems with different political ideology, looking for a better and just moral system but are faced every day with more bad news and a grim looking future. Christians should not be surprised, and distressed as the earth-dwellers, for our souls have an anchor.

The Word of God declares clearly to us where the world system is heading, for the whole world lies in the wicked one. The only answer to its problems is the coming of Christ. He and He alone will restore order and rule in righteousness. Let us not forget that we are citizens of Heaven. We have great responsibility today to point man to Christ as the source of security and stability, and to Heaven where our treasures should be laid up. Knowing our Heavenly citizenship as pilgrims and strangers her we ought not to get involved in political debates trying to improve the moral condition of people around us, this is the wrong thinks or should a I say theology, that to say the fixing the world government and Christianize any political system. Remember what the Lord Jesus said to Pilate (John 18:36). We live in the world, and we go to school or work and act in our responsible life (1 Cor.8:31) as a representation of Christ on earth and should take every opportunity in very wise and bold ways to point man to the need of repentance and acceptance of the love of God and the gift of salvation by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you for the encouraging e-mails that we often receive. It is our prayer that the Lord will use Toward the Mark to help you to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Him. Please visit our website for the previous articles.
